Saint Augustine is such an awesome place to visit…Whether you are a first-timer or a “frequent flyer”, there is always something fun going on around here. Some people come for the history, some for the beaches; others just “gotta shop”! Whatever your reason, we can offer a comfortable and affordable place to stay for singles, couples, or the whole family!
We have DirecTV with about 160 channels, a DVD player,
Radio/CD player and an Ethernet connection for internet access. The kitchen has
a full sized fridge and electric stove, coffee maker, toaster and microwave,
plus dishes, cooking and serving utensils, pots and pans…the usual stuff.
There’s also a charcoal grill, beach chairs, beach towels and a picnic area with
Our location is one of the best reasons to stay here. Vilano Beach is largely a residential area…instead of one hotel after the next, private homes line the beach here so there are few crowds to contend with…just miles of uninterrupted sand and surf. Our beach is a treat for collectors of shells, starfish, sharks teeth and other treasures from the sea. You can often see dolphins swimming by. The waves are pretty good, too, and most every day you can surf by board, kite, skim or boogie. Lots of people get a local fishing license when they arrive and either bring or rent some gear and catch dinner in the early mornings either right on the beach or ½ mile away at the Vilano Fishing Pier. If it’s action you are looking for, we are just about 2 miles, (less than 5 minutes’ drive) from Historic Downtown with all of the shops, galleries, museums, attractions, restaurants, and entertainment you could want. Drive about 5 miles more and hit the shoppers’ paradise at our 2 outlet malls, or plan your trip around one of the concert events at our world-class Amphitheatre just less than 4 miles away on Anastasia Island, just up the street from the Alligator Farm and the famed St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum. Cool stuff and really worth the visit!
Four-legged friends are welcome if they are clean, well behaved, and insect-free. There are leash laws on the beach and you must pick up after your pet when nature calls. If you trust your dog and the beach is pretty empty, you can probably let them run free and swim without anyone hassling you. (My 7 year old black lab chases tennis balls nearly every evening at sunset when the beach is clear!) We have an outdoor shower and dog wash area to clean off before returning indoors. There’s also a coin laundry on the premises if you want to return home with clean clothes!
The A/C window units work great in the summer and the adjustable space heaters keep you toasty in the winter. This is really a vacation home for all seasons!
So… seriously cute, comfortably furnished, spotlessly clean, affordably priced, pet friendly, right on the beach…what are you waiting for?
